Site Re-Launch...and a Countdown "Ceremony"

Hello all!

Welcome back to the Wingstock 2008 website. It has now relaunched with a slightly different look (green is yer Wingman's favourite colour y'know!), and the site will be having much more frequent updates as we're in the final stretch to Wingstock 2008!! Enjoy the song and the accompanying visuals, I trust you'll find them inspiring...

While you're at it, if you haven't been here in a while, note the link at the top right of the site to important transportation information for those of you in southwestern Ontario. More to come soon enough!

Important Wingstock Transportation Details

Hello everyone,

As Wingstock 2008 approaches, it's time to discuss transportation details. This post will be accessible leading up to Wingstock by clicking the link at the top right side of the main page ("Click Here for Info, Discussion, and Updates").

Our Ride
I am very pleased to confirm that Scott Skinner has kindly volunteered to drive from the GTA in his van, the "Skinnermobile." The Skinnermobile seats 6 comfortably, but can hold a maximum of 8 Wingstockers. (Note: the picture included in this post may or may not be an accurate representation of the Skinnermobile).

Departure Plan
Our plan is to depart the GTA on Thursday evening, June 19th, after work. We'll have to confirm our list of GTA Wingstockers and co-ordinate transportation to Scott's place in Toronto. Our current target is to leave Scott's place by 6:30 pm.

69 days to Wingstock, but the real question is...

 

...in this picture of well-dressed gentlemen, what is Winger pulling out of his inside jacket pocket? Or, consider: what would Winger store in the inside pocket of his tuxedo? Hmmmmm. Winger? Care to share the real answer?

There will be no Joel victory poses

Following up on yesterday's Wingstock Website exclusive coverage of "Gunwale-gate" and the spirited discussion that ensued, it's necessary to respond to Joel's persistent and determined promises to dominate the Wingstock games. The old saying that "a picture's worth a thousand words" comes to mind...and take note, Mr. Fairlie, you won't be doing any of this come the weekend of June 20th.

The truth revealed

We here at Wingstock 2008 HQ are pleased to reveal compelling new evidence that will solve the controversy that has hounded certain Wingstock attendees for years. In June 2006, Matt and Joel were engaged in a epic gunwale-bobbing battle during Joel's bachelor-party-camping-trip. Now, Joel might have been blinded by pre-wedding euphoria, but his claims of victory can finally be put to sleep thanks to our new-found evidence. As can be seen from this photograph, while Matt is clearly going to hit the water first, Joel is breaking Rule #1 of gunwale-bobbing: do not grab the gunwales. As such, Joel is disqualified and Matt is the clear winner.

You may be curious as to the relevance to Wingstock. Well...in a recent conversation, Joel threw down the gauntlet and claimed "I will destroy anyone and everyone at any game staged during Wingstock." Well Joel, to that we say "destroy away," but just play by the rules man.

Never again

In honour of Fuss's recent good news announcement, I am posting this logo on the Wingstock 2008 website. This does not represent an endorsement of the Miami Dolphins by Wingstock, Chad Winger, or by the author of this post. But cheers to Fuss and his team on this day.
